Hot Wheels Elite has just announced to us that they will be releasing a two car Ferrari set to celebrate Ferrari’s success at the British GP at Silverstone two weeks ago, Hot Wheels Elite have announced a special limited edition in 1/43rd scale, ‘60 Years of Success' that will include on the same plinth both the 150 Italia of Fernando Alonso and the 375 F1 driven by Gonzalez winner of the British GP at Silverstone in 1951. The '60 Years of Success' F1 special edition will be limited to 5,000 pieces only and is due for release in November 2011. Today we received news that Hot Wheels will be releasing the Ferrari 599XX Racing Car shortly. The Ferrari 599XX model will be released in Red, Blue and Grey. Fernando Alonso described it as “a special day” after he won his first race with Ferrari, describing his new employers as “the best team in the world”.

The Spaniard finished sixteen seconds ahead of teammate Felipe Massa, who thanked God and everyone who supported him through his accident after claiming his first ever podium place in an opening race. He described the car as ‘just perfect’ but said that a temperature problem meant he could not challenge his teammate for the victory.

While based on the 599 GTB Fiorano, this prototype is an extreme track car. Ferrari’s engineers carried out extensive engine work on the combustion chambers and inlet and exhaust tracts. All these changes, combined with the fact that internal attrition has been reduced and maximum revs have been boosted to 9,000 rpm, lead to a target power output of 700 hp at 9,000 rpm.

Moreover, the 599XX is characterized by an innovative electronic concept called the “High Performance Dynamic Concept” designed for maximum performance by managing the combination of the car’s mechanical limits with the potential of its electronic controls. At the same time, composites and carbon-fibre have been widely used in the body, the engineers drawing on their experience with aluminium to reach the weight target.

Ferrari says the 599XX features a "plethora of aerodynamic, electronic control and handling innovations used together for the first time on a single car, making this model a genuine technological laboratory." Only 20 or 30 examples of the 599XX were offered to a very selected clientele, and participation in the program (which includes the car) runs over a million Euros (close to $2 million dollars).

Hot Wheels Elite has provided us with images of there new Ferrari FF that they will be released this year. They are producing this model in 1/18 and 1/43 scales. At the moment Hot Wheels Elite have only stated that they will be releasing this model in Red so far, however we expect them to release some other colours too.
