Ferrari Working Flat-Out On 2012 F1 Car!
Posted on August 24, 2011 by Admin
Ferrari is now working flat-out on the development of what it claims is a 'very innovative' 2012 car, even though it still holds out some hope that it can haul itself back into this year's championship fight.
Fernando Alonso's recent run of good form, which included victory in the British Grand Prix, has put him 89 points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel and his only realistic hope of closing that gap down dramatically is if his Red Bull rival hits some trouble.
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says his team's approach right now is on simply trying to win each grand prix, and then in a few race's time the outfit can take a better look to see if there is still a chance of the title.
Meanwhile, he openly admits that the real effort at Maranello is on delivering a much more aggressive car design for next year, having realised the team was too conservative this season.

Alonso Wins The British GP!
Posted on July 10, 2011 by Admin
Fernando Alonso took Ferrari's first win of 2011 with a stunning drive at a thrilling British Grand Prix.
The Spaniard took the lead following a pit-stop problem for Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel but the Ferrari had genuine race-winning pace.
Vettel was left to fend off team-mate Mark Webber, who was told to hold position by team boss Christian Horner.
Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, holding off Ferrari's Felipe Massa in an exciting last-lap duel.

Vettel Takes Valencia Pole.
Posted on June 25, 2011 by Admin
Sebastien Vettel claimed a 22nd pole position in his short F1 career after topping the charts in qualifying for the European GP in Valencia.
The Red Bull driver was the only man to dip under one minute 37 seconds for the street race with team-mate Mark Webber qualifying second-fastest late in the session.
Lewis Hamilton will share the second row with the Ferraro of Fernando Alonso while Alonso's team-mate Felipe Massa edged out the second McLaren of Jenson Button on the third row.
The Mercedes pair of Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher came next ahead of Nick Heidfeld's Renault and the Force India of Adrian Sutil.

Alonso Thinks Silverstone Is Title Crunch Point
Posted on June 2, 2011 by Admin
Fernando Alonso reckons the British Grand Prix in July will be the key indicator of whether Ferrari has any chance of fighting for this year's world championship. After falling 74 points behind leader Sebastian Vettel as the reigning champion took his fifth win of the year in Monaco yesterday, Alonso expressed concern that his world title hopes were looking remote.
In his column on Ferrari's website, Alonso said that verdict was influenced by his initial disappointment at losing a race he was confident he could have won.

Vettel Wins Monaco Grand Prix!
Posted on May 31, 2011 by Admin
Sebastian Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix after the race was red flagged and then restarted with only six laps to go. Fernando Alonso was second and Jenson Button third.
It was a fascinating three way battle for the victory, with three completely different race strategies creating tremendous tension and excitement. Vettel was forced into stopping only once, managing to do almost 60 laps on a set of tyres. while Alonso took advantage of a safety car to make his second stop and jumped Button, who drove an attacking three stop strategy, but the safety car wrecked it for him.

Jenson Button On Future!
Posted on May 5, 2011 by Admin
Jenson Button wants to stay at McLaren for the rest of his Formula One career. The 2009 world champion is due to open talks about a new contract with the team this summer. And he insists he does not want to go to any other outfit as he has gelled so well with McLaren. Button currently on a three-year contract that began at the start of 2010 said:
"When I finish racing here, I won't be racing in Formula One any more. "I'm very happy here. I want to enjoy my racing and I'm really enjoying my time here. I can't see any reason to be anywhere else."

Ferrari To Upgrade Before Turkey GP!
Posted on May 4, 2011 by Admin
Ferrari will introduce new front and rear wings, plus modified brake ducts, at this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix as it begins to get on top of the problems it has suffered in the early part of the campaign. After a major analysis at Maranello in recent weeks as to why its new car was not producing the downforce that wind tunnel figures suggested it should, Ferrari thinks it is now starting to get an understanding of what has happened this year. Ferrari's chief designer Nikolas Tombazis is not expecting a huge breakthrough with the new parts in Istanbul, but believes the team is back on the right path.

Lewis Needs More Speed To Catch Red Bulls!
Posted on April 19, 2011 by Admin
Lewis Hamilton has called on his McLaren team to give him even more speed to challenge the might of Red Bull.
The British driver brought reigning champion Sebastian Vettel's recent domination to an end with a commanding victory in China on Sunday. Hamilton's triumph - his first in nine races - was just what he and Formula One needed after the German and Red Bull threatened to run away with a second title. Now he has urged his team to give him the extra speed he needs for when Grand Prix revs back into action in Turkey on May 9.

Hamilton & Button To End Careers At McLaren!
Posted on April 14, 2011 by Admin
Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button's boss reckons his Formula One dream team can carry on for another five years at least.
And the duo have both been told they can see out their careers at McLaren. Button's three-season, £24million deal ends next year - as does Hamilton's £75m, five-year contract. But team chief Martin Whitmarsh said: "I hope their relationship goes on for many more years.
"Jenson's got another five years in him if he wants it. Lewis has got another 10 years in F1.

Alonso Thinks Vettel Is Out Of Reach Now!
Posted on April 13, 2011 by Admin
Fernando Alonso says world champion and championship leader Sebastian Vettel is currently out of reach given his current form. Red Bull driver Vettel has enjoyed a perfect start to the season, with two poles and two wins in as many races so far.
Alonso managed a fourth place in the Australian Grand Prix and a sixth in Malaysia last weekend. The Spaniard admitted he was upbeat about the pace of his Ferrari in race trim in Sepang, but he conceded that Vettel is out of reach at the moment.
