Ferrari Working Flat-Out On 2012 F1 Car!
Posted on August 24, 2011 by Admin
Ferrari is now working flat-out on the development of what it claims is a 'very innovative' 2012 car, even though it still holds out some hope that it can haul itself back into this year's championship fight.
Fernando Alonso's recent run of good form, which included victory in the British Grand Prix, has put him 89 points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel and his only realistic hope of closing that gap down dramatically is if his Red Bull rival hits some trouble.
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says his team's approach right now is on simply trying to win each grand prix, and then in a few race's time the outfit can take a better look to see if there is still a chance of the title.
Meanwhile, he openly admits that the real effort at Maranello is on delivering a much more aggressive car design for next year, having realised the team was too conservative this season.

Vettel Wins Monaco Grand Prix!
Posted on May 31, 2011 by Admin
Sebastian Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix after the race was red flagged and then restarted with only six laps to go. Fernando Alonso was second and Jenson Button third.
It was a fascinating three way battle for the victory, with three completely different race strategies creating tremendous tension and excitement. Vettel was forced into stopping only once, managing to do almost 60 laps on a set of tyres. while Alonso took advantage of a safety car to make his second stop and jumped Button, who drove an attacking three stop strategy, but the safety car wrecked it for him.

Lola Aston Martin Returns To La Sarthe
Posted on May 23, 2011 by Admin
Although Aston Martin seem to have some difficulty in the development of the new AMR-One, the withdrawal of the Honda of Highcroft Racing will allow the Lola-Aston Martin coupé to appear in La Sarthe on the 11th and 12th June. It carved out a remarkable series of successes under the legendary blue and orange colours of Gulf Oil in 2009 and 2010.
In 2009, it won in its first season in the Le Mans Series., with two victories in five races. Aston Martin Racing Team won the LM P1 classification with Tomas Enge, Stefan Mücke and Jan Charouz driving. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the same trio had a superb fourth place that year behind two Peugeot 908 HDi FAP and an Audi R15. In 2010, Stefan Mücke, this time with Harold Primat and Adrian Fernandez, took sixth place.

Brawn - Schumacher Will Bounce Back!
Posted on May 18, 2011 by Admin
Mercedes GP boss Ross Brawn believes Michael Schumacher will be back on form in the Spanish Grand Prix following a disappointing race in Turkey.
"I am sure the last race wasn't very joyful, and that is what he was referring to," said Brawn of Schumacher's comments after the Istanbul race, where the German finished down in 12th position after contact with Vitaly Petrov.
"When you have a race like that as any driver it is going to knock you back a bit.
"But I think he is pretty resilient and I am optimistic this weekend he will be back where we want him."

Valentino Rossi Celebrates First Ducati Podium!
Posted on May 16, 2011 by Admin
Seven time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi achieved his first major milestone as a Ducati rider by taking a debut Desmosedici podium in Sunday's French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
Ninth on the grid and sixth at the end of the first lap, Rossi spent the first half of the race just behind a battle for fourth between Yamaha's world champion Jorge Lorenzo and Repsol Honda's Andrea Dovizioso.
Just as Rossi passed Dovizioso for fifth, an incident ahead of them between Dani Pedrosa and Marco Simoncelli meant the trio would soon be battling for the final two places on the podium. Rossi rose to the occasion, overtaking Dovizioso and then former team-mate Lorenzo - the 2011 points leader - with four laps to go. But Dovizioso also got past the #1 and later wrestled second place away from Rossi by just 0.35sec.

Jenson Button On Future!
Posted on May 5, 2011 by Admin
Jenson Button wants to stay at McLaren for the rest of his Formula One career. The 2009 world champion is due to open talks about a new contract with the team this summer. And he insists he does not want to go to any other outfit as he has gelled so well with McLaren. Button currently on a three-year contract that began at the start of 2010 said:
"When I finish racing here, I won't be racing in Formula One any more. "I'm very happy here. I want to enjoy my racing and I'm really enjoying my time here. I can't see any reason to be anywhere else."

Mark Webber Could Quit Red Bull!
Posted on May 3, 2011 by Admin
Mark Webber insists his future in Formula 1 remains open for now - after saying he would consider a switch to another team for 2012 if Red Bull Racing chooses not to extend his contract. The Australian has favoured a rolling year-by-year contract at his current outfit, and the team is in no rush to sort out a fresh deal for now.
That has prompted speculation about his future - with Ferrari already being singled out as a possible destination for him if the Italian outfit opts not to extend Felipe Massa's contract. Speaking to Italian newspaper La Stampa, Webber has said that his future is not settled – and that he will only make a call about his plans when Red Bull Racing has made its own mind up.
