Ferrari Working Flat-Out On 2012 F1 Car!
Posted on August 24, 2011 by Admin
Ferrari is now working flat-out on the development of what it claims is a 'very innovative' 2012 car, even though it still holds out some hope that it can haul itself back into this year's championship fight.
Fernando Alonso's recent run of good form, which included victory in the British Grand Prix, has put him 89 points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel and his only realistic hope of closing that gap down dramatically is if his Red Bull rival hits some trouble.
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says his team's approach right now is on simply trying to win each grand prix, and then in a few race's time the outfit can take a better look to see if there is still a chance of the title.
Meanwhile, he openly admits that the real effort at Maranello is on delivering a much more aggressive car design for next year, having realised the team was too conservative this season.

Rolls Royce Diecast Models.
Posted on April 7, 2011 by Admin
Charles Rolls and Henry Royce founded Rolls-Royce Ltd in 1906. United by a historic meeting at the Midland Hotel Manchester by Henry Edmunds who had a car showroom in London and a friend of Charles Rolls. The pairing of the engineering brilliance of Royce with the equally brilliant business acumen and financial backing of Rolls was to become legendary. Even today the name "Rolls-Royce" has become a byword for excellence.
Rolls-Royce Ltd first motor car was The Silver Ghost (1906-1925) which was largely responsible for the company's early reputation. It had a 6-cylinder engine and as early as 1907 the fledgling automotive manufacturer was collecting awards for outstanding engineering excellence and reliability. In 1911 the "Spirit of Ecstasy" first graced a Rolls-Royce car. In 1931 Rolls-Royce acquired Bentley who were ailing due to the Great Depression. From then on, until 2002, Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars were almost identical aside from the radiator grills and other cosmetic changes.
In 1971 Rolls-Royce was nationalised and in 1973 Rolls-Royce Motors was formed as a separate entity from the aircraft and marine engine business. In 1980 Rolls-Royce was aquired by Vickers who in 1998 sold the company to Volkswagen. However they didn't have rights to the trademark name and logo. On January 1, 2003 a new agreement between Volkswagen and BMW came into effect, with Volkswagen retaining the name Bentley while BMW acquired the name Rolls-Royce and later that year produced their first Rolls-Royce, the Phantom.

Truescale Miniatures Announce Ferrari F50 GT 1996!
Posted on March 23, 2011 by Admin
The Ferrari F50 GT (also known as the Ferrari F50 GT1) was a derivative of Ferrari F50, intended for use in the BPR Global GT Series. However, Ferrari decided not to put the F50 GT into production, and only three cars were sold to the public; the prototype and two assembled specially for prominent customers. The entrance of homologation-specials such as the Porsche 911 GT1 in the BPR series led to Ferrari not going forward with the project. The car was co-developed with Dallara.

True Scale Miniatures Set To Release Porsche 935 K3 DRM.
Posted on March 22, 2011 by Admin
The Porsche 935 was introduced in 1976, as the factory racing version of the Porsche 911 turbo prepared for FIA-Group 5 rules. It was an evolution of the Porsche Carrera RSR 2.1 turbo prototype which had scored 2nd overall in the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Beginning with the 1977 season, Porsche offered the 935 to customers which entered the car in the World Championship for Makes, in the IMSA GT championship and in the German Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM). The 935 went on to win the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans overall, and other major endurance races, including Sebring, Daytona, and the 1000 km Nürburgring. Of the 370 races it was entered, it won 123.
Usually, no other make could challenge the Porsche 935, as due to the availability of customer models, each race at the time typically featured at least five 935s. Racing became entertaining for the crowd at the expense of the diversity of makes. The large turbocharger was used with mechanical fuel injection which caused turbo lag followed shortly by a fireball spitting from the exhaust and an enormous amount of power (up to 800 hp). The dominance of the 935 was ended by the FIA rules changes coming in effect in 1982, when the six numbered groups were replaced by only three groups, A, B and C.
