Ferrari Working Flat-Out On 2012 F1 Car!
Posted on August 24, 2011 by Admin
Ferrari is now working flat-out on the development of what it claims is a 'very innovative' 2012 car, even though it still holds out some hope that it can haul itself back into this year's championship fight.
Fernando Alonso's recent run of good form, which included victory in the British Grand Prix, has put him 89 points behind championship leader Sebastian Vettel and his only realistic hope of closing that gap down dramatically is if his Red Bull rival hits some trouble.
Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali says his team's approach right now is on simply trying to win each grand prix, and then in a few race's time the outfit can take a better look to see if there is still a chance of the title.
Meanwhile, he openly admits that the real effort at Maranello is on delivering a much more aggressive car design for next year, having realised the team was too conservative this season.

McLaren Now Matches Red Bull Pace!
Posted on August 2, 2011 by Admin
Jenson Button believes Red Bull Racing should have every reason to be worried about its own pace now - with the Hungarian Grand Prix winner confident McLaren is now a match for the championship leaders in both qualifying and races.
On the basis that McLaren has won three of the last five grands prix, Jenson Button sees no reason why the Woking-based outfit cannot continue its good run of form for the remainder of the season.
And, with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber now being pushed really hard in qualifying - an area where they were dominant earlier this year - Jenson Button thinks that the advantage Red Bull Racing had has now been wiped away.

Jenson Button - McLaren Will Come Good!!
Posted on July 12, 2011 by Admin
Jenson Button last night backed his team as he told them to forget their British Grand Prix nightmare. The Frome flier saw the wheels come off his 12th attempt to get on the podium at his home race.
Button's hopes were wrecked when he was sent away from the pits with a wheel nut missing, forcing him to park up. The latest in a series of blunders has put huge pressure on McLaren team chief Martin Whitmarsh.
But Button, 95 points behind leader and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel, insisted: "This doesn't shake my confidence in the team. Not really. We all have bad weekends, Red Bull have had them, too. This was a poor weekend for the team but, hopefully, we will be back on track in Germany.

Vettel Takes Valencia Pole.
Posted on June 25, 2011 by Admin
Sebastien Vettel claimed a 22nd pole position in his short F1 career after topping the charts in qualifying for the European GP in Valencia.
The Red Bull driver was the only man to dip under one minute 37 seconds for the street race with team-mate Mark Webber qualifying second-fastest late in the session.
Lewis Hamilton will share the second row with the Ferraro of Fernando Alonso while Alonso's team-mate Felipe Massa edged out the second McLaren of Jenson Button on the third row.
The Mercedes pair of Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher came next ahead of Nick Heidfeld's Renault and the Force India of Adrian Sutil.

Vettel Wins Monaco Grand Prix!
Posted on May 31, 2011 by Admin
Sebastian Vettel won the Monaco Grand Prix after the race was red flagged and then restarted with only six laps to go. Fernando Alonso was second and Jenson Button third.
It was a fascinating three way battle for the victory, with three completely different race strategies creating tremendous tension and excitement. Vettel was forced into stopping only once, managing to do almost 60 laps on a set of tyres. while Alonso took advantage of a safety car to make his second stop and jumped Button, who drove an attacking three stop strategy, but the safety car wrecked it for him.

Mark Webber Take Barcelona Pole!
Posted on May 21, 2011 by Admin
Mark Webber aced Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel for the first time in a 2011 qualifying session, to take his first pole position of the season in Spain on Saturday. Vettel’s sole run in Q3 - done without KERS - yielded him a fastest-of-the-weekend 1m 21.181s, undercutting the 1m 21.961s and 1m 21.996s laps of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, but then Webber slipped in his masterpiece - with KERS - to take the top slot with 1m 20.981s.
Subsequently, Fernando Alonso squeezed his Ferrari between the McLarens, with 1m 21.964s, only three-thousandths off Hamilton.

Malaysian Grand Prix 2011 News!
Posted on April 8, 2011 by Admin
Mark Webber remained fastest in the second free practice session for the Malaysian Grand Prix as Red Bull continued to look the class of the field in Sepang, but this time the team was run closer by Jenson Button's McLaren.
The top four drivers were covered by less than 0.250s, as Webber's 1m36.876s - on Pirelli's Option - proved to be the quickest lap of the day, set just after halfway through the 90 minutes and in response to Sebastian Vettel's 1m37.090s. The two Red Bulls were split, however, with Button and Lewis Hamilton going second and third fastest.
Michael Schumacher survived a scary grassy moment down at Turn 6 to go fifth fastest for Mercedes ahead of Felipe Massa's Ferrari. Nico Rosberg was seventh ahead of Nick Heidfeld, who recovered some of this morning's lost time to go eighth fastest with Fernando Alonso and Jaime Alguersuari completing the top ten.

Vettel - Hamilton Line-Up Wouldn't Work In F1!
Posted on April 6, 2011 by Admin
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has again played down the chances of his squad making a bid for Lewis Hamilton's services in the near future - and suggested that it would be unwise to pair the Briton and Sebastian Vettel in the same team.
When McLaren was struggling in winter testing there were suggestions that its poor form could prompt Hamilton to look elsewhere in the future - talk that Horner swiftly distanced Red Bull from.
Speaking to journalists at Silverstone today, the RBR chief said that pairing Hamilton and Vettel as team-mates would be inviting the same kind of tension seen between Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in their fractious season at McLaren in 2007.
